Playing Resumé:
Dave joined his first band Dalkeith Burgh in 1984. His first contest was the 4th section National Finals at the Royal Albert Hall in London. He moved from the back row to the soprano chair in the late 1980s and latterly became the last principal cornet of the band before its merger with Monktonhall Colliery in 1990. In 1996, after 12 years with Dalkeith, Dave joined Unison Kinneil on Bb cornet where he spent three years before taking a short break due to work and family commitments. Dave came back to banding with St Davids Brass, where he played for two years before returning to Bo'ness and rejoining Kinneil, this time on soprano. |
