Graham started playing euphonium at the age of 11 with Penicuik Silver Band, joining Whitburn at the age of 16 on 2nd euphonium.
In 2003, Graham moved onto Eb bass, becoming principal of both Whitburn and the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland a few months later.
Graham has been a featured soloist with Whitburn on many occasions, including a performance on BBC Radio 2’s Listen to the Band programme.
In 2006, Graham became Scottish Solo Champion, a title he retained in 2007.
However, Graham's greatest accolade came in May 2007, when he was placed fourth overall and won the 'Best Tuba' prize at the European Brass and Percussion Solo competition. The contest was held as part of the European Brass Band Championships. Graham's placing was the best ever result for a Scottish competitor and for a tuba player in the contest's history."
