Playing Resumé:
Jim Chamberlain started conducting bands in 1998 when he took up the baton with South Milford band in East Yorkshire, as well as directing the Stanley Newmarket Youth Brass workshops near his home town of Wakefield. After he moved to Scotland in 2000, he took up the MD position with Penicuik Silver as well as helping out other bands including Bo'ness and Carriden.

Jim was recently appointed as a Brass instructor with Fife Council after spending 10 years as a classroom music teacher in Edinburgh. He also teaches and conducts with the Scottish Schools Orchestra Trust (SScOT).

Jim is currently the conductor of the Dalkeith & Monktonhall Brass Band, who he led to victory in the Scottish Third Section in 2008, and most recently the Scottish 2nd Section earlier this year.

He also led Dalkeith & Monktonhall to victory in November 2008 when he directed their winning performance of 'Essay' in the Scottish Challenge Cup. Previously, he was the conductor of the Lochgelly Band, taking them to the National Finals in Harrogate after he led them to second place in the Scottish regional championships, 2005. He has also worked with the Fife Youth: Next Generation band (FY:NG) on several occasions.

Jim became the resident conductor of Whitburn Band in May.
