Being one of the World’s top brass bands is a fantastic achievement, however, it is not one that comes cheap. To keep the band performing at this level costs over £40,000 per anum. Currently, Whitburn Band is a subscription band, which means that the players themselves fund the band and all of its relative costs. Each player contributes £20 a month and is also responsible for all of their own transport and hotel costs at all the major events they attend. When the band competes at the National Finals in the Royal Albert Hall, London or the British Open in Birmingham, this can easily be a cost of almost £300 per player at each event!

How can you help?
We are now encouraging companies, individuals and friends of players in the band to help share this cost by sponsoring a player.

What will it cost?
Horses for courses. £50 will get you a seasoned veteran like Alex Vidler on 2nd horn right up to £500 for one of our young superstars, like our double Scottish Solo Champion Graham Fraser or the band’s Principal Cornet, Chris Bradley. Maybe you want to form a syndicate of work colleagues or family to club together and sponsor the player of your dreams! No reasonable offer will be refused.

What will I get?
Included in your sponsorship package will be your name on this website and in our concert programmes. If this is a company sponsorship, then there will be a dynamic link from your logo back to your corporate homepage, acknowledging your contribution. In addition, all sponsors will receive a free Whitburn Band CD, an exclusive sponsor’s invitation to the Whitburn Band Sponsors Summer Promenade Concert and an invite to the band’s end of year party, where you can meet and socialise with your favourite players.

How will it help my sponsored player?
Your contribution will be used directly to reduce the cost to each playing member of Whitburn Band. The best band is not just a collection of the best players, more importantly, the spirit and ethos of teamwork, allied to skill, dedication and the will to succeed, will continue to contribute to the ongoing success of Whitburn Band. To this end, your individual sponsorship will go some way to reducing the financial burden of all the players in the band, by reducing their travel and hotel costs.

Did You Know? That for the last 15 years the Whitburn Band has provided the National Anthems for the visiting teams against the Scotland football team. BBC, STV, Sky and Setanta have all covered these games. What an opportunity for your company.
